Additional Information: "Remove soleplate cover before using iron & remove all packaging from the
iron" The soleplate cover the Rowenta manual refers to is a stick-on protective cover to prevent the soleplate from being scratched while in the box. Rowenta has eliminated these on most models, because they were so sticky, and customers sometimes forget to remove them as instructed. Once the iron gets hot, it will fuse to the protective cover, making is almost impossible to remove the residue. Hope this explains Rowenta's soleplate cover. Thanks. John
